The Dementia Law Network aims to:
advance knowledge on issues at the intersection of law and dementia;
bring together researchers, clinicians, legal practitioners, people living with dementia, their families and the broader community;
develop evidence-informed resources and strategies to improve practices and policy; and
build national and international connections.
The website was launched in 2023, with information on lead investigators as well as the Dementia Law Network members, partners, projects and resources. The focus areas of the most recent projects includes:
Dementia and criminal risk behaviours
Dementia capability for the legal profession
Dementia and research participation, and
Abuse of older people.
The network has made a range or resources available for people living with dementia, their care partners, and the legal profession, and hopes to add more resources in the near future.
